production blog: filming

Welcome back! Yesterday the group was finally able to meet up and film. To do this, Jordyn rode with Aja to meet at my moms house after school. There, we stopped for a homemade chicken sandwich before heading to my dads to begin filming. Once we got there, we began to film the morning scene, until I realized I had forgotten the main prop, my glasses. Because of this, we filmed the bathroom scene instead. Aja was recording, and she had to take many shots of the same scene due to the difficult transition. I was the one acting at the moment, and I had to hold many different positions and hide props in the sink to keep the transitions clean. At one point, I had the prop flask in the sink, while also having my head ducked in the sink to avoid being in the camera's view. Another funny think I had to do was mess up my bathroom! I used toothpaste and squeezed it out on the counter, flicked water on the mirror to make it look dirty, and put old hairties on the counter. This was to give it a lived in, messy feel to relate to an alchoholic's mindset. After this, we used a phone stabilizer to record, but it died and we had to do it without. This caused us to have to refilm the first part of the transition over again. Once the necessary shots were filmed, we wanted to see if the transitions lined up, so Jordyn used an app on her phone to check. Once we lined them up it was clear that the lighting wasnt the same. Unfortunatly, Jordyn had to go home and so did Aja. We decided to settle on editing the lighting the next day, which Jordyn would take care of. After packing up and gathering all of the props into the same place, we made a plan for our next film tate, which is going to be Wednesday, the 8th of March. See you then!
