Welcome back! It’s been a few days since my last update and I’m glad to announce that we’ve moved on to concocting pitches for our upcoming short film. Part of the reason why this blog took a while to get out was because my team and I spent quite a bit of time deliberating back and forth about what we wanted our film to be about (having a hurricane narrowly miss us also factored in, but we all thankfully fared well). As you will see below, we took three major factors into consideration: casting, location, and budgeting. We also ensured to take the time to consider probable storylines before settling on the following three pitches because we felt that they demonstrated the most potential for developing into meaningful plotlines. Pitch A: An amnesiac’s life is about to take a turn for the worst. For my short film project, i am in a group of three people, including myself. These people Aja Masri, Jordyn Minnis, and myself, Ashley Scanlan. When we made our group today, we instantly cliqued. All of us are hardworking girls with different helpful talents. Jordyn has a knack for editing, aswell as being incredably smart. Aja has a great imagination and great humor to keep us going through boring assignments. I love to film and act and im always up for an adventure. With all of these traits combined, I know we will make a great group. When we broke into groups today, we did some light brainstorming. We were spitballing different ideas, and of course aja was throwing in some silly ones to make us laugh! I think we came up with some great ideas and it was a great way to test out our dynamic. Hi, my name is Ashley Scanlan, and i am back for my A level of Media Studies. My birthday is October 14, 2005. I hate the dentist and I'm terrified of shots. I am 16 years old, and I love music, playing guitar, and playing lacrosse. I was born in St. Albans, Vermont before moving to Florida. I did competitive gymnastics for 8 years before I started playing lacrosse on a travel team. I have two older sisters, Taylor, age 26, and Kimberly, age 20. My moms side of the family is from Brownsville, Texas. My dads side of the family is from Boston, Massachusetts. I have 2 cats; Ninja and Daisy. I also have a dog named Khloe and a bearded dragon named Gimli. I hate mushrooms and my favorite food is mashed potatoes. I love shopping, painting my nails, and concerts.
