Production blog: cancelation

Welcome back! Even though my group was supposed to meet up to begin the filming process this past weekend, my groupmates and I were unable to stick to the plan. a decision to meet up this Thursday was made. My group wasnt able to meet up because of SAT testing this week, and wanting to study was also a factor. When all of us had time, work on smaller tasks regarding our film was done. I was working on the musical scores that will be distributed throughout the film. I wanted to create specific scores that correlate to the emotions of each scene. To do this I used multiple instruments like guitar, piano, violin and drums. A great part of being in such a technological advanced time is that I am able to immitate different instruments from my computer. In an application called Garage Band I am able to "play" a violin to create tense or sad feelings. Luckily, I have access to many guitars through the school, as well as my personal collection. I also have my own keyboard, but i

Time to start working on the elements of our film! We have one official song that we got the copyrights to. We did this by emailing the business email provided on the artists website. They responded quickly and were happy to let us use the song in our film. I am already a musician and I play multiple instruments. Using music software I can create a tense, spooky vibe that we are looking for. We want to add a clock ticking in the background to make significant that the subject’s memory is slowly getting closer to its reset. The ticking should be faint but when the scene is more intense it gets louder. Our reasoning behind this is that it

Storyboard Blog: Something's Sketchy

Hello again! Today my teammates and I completed our short film storyboard. As you will soon see, it was a collaborative effort with a range of art styles and drawing techniques (although stick figures do seem to be a commonality)! By working with our storyboard, we can now visualize each of our scenes as they will occur in our featurette. I have also explained each scene below, as to ensure all of the presented information is as clear as possible. Scene 1: In Scene 1, we will begin with an establishing, overhead wide shot, as to capture the interior of the subject's bedroom. Their room will be neatly organized to portray the fact that they are a functioning alcoholic, In this scene, three of our opening titles will be shown for roughly two seconds each. Said titles, like the rest in the short film will both fade in and fade out. In this case, the studio name will appear over the subject, disappearing when their alarm goes off. The production company name will appear as the subj
