production blog: editing

Image
for the editing portion of the project, michael and sabrina did most of it. Me and Celine did a lot of the acting and make up and costume planning. Sabrina is working on the majority of the editing as she filmed the whole thing. Michael has a vision for what he wants it to look like so he's going to give some insight to sabrina. in class tomorrow sabrina will show me what she has so far. Since me and sabrina also have media studies with Celine she will also show it to her. Michael does not have the same period so we will all get together before the due date to review it. another option is to send it into the group chat for review. I think it will be easier if we all get together to review it. Once all of the editing is finished sabrina and michael add the sound effects. any extra typing or text that needs to go in to the film will also be added. The last step to the editing will be adding the sound. Since I made the music for our film it will be converted into an audio file. Once i

for our last day of filming, on march 27th, the group had to refilm a scene at the park. this was because the day we filmed it, it was too windy. you couldnt hear the audio. everyone met at my house again, and i drove us to the park location when we got there, we shot the nessisary clip. after that, we got distractes and we played on the playground because we had extra time. there was also a beach at the park, so we went and put our feet in the water but me and michael fell in trying to catch a ball. because we were in out fimling clothes, we had to immediatly leave and drive home. once we got home, me and micheal had to change into dry clothes and quickly dry out filming clothes. this took about 45 minutes, so in the mean time we had lunch. once the clothes were dry, the group was able to film the scenes that we didnt get to the last day of filming. this included me sabrina having to put fake blood on micheal again, and me and celine doing his makeup. once this was done, i had to do m

production blog: costumes/makeup

Before my group and I filmed, makeup and outfits had to be involved. As investigators, celine and I had to dress a little bit professional and formal. celine was wearing a button down that was tucked in with jeans. i wore a button down as well but with baggier jeans. Both of us tried to have a similar concept and match since we were both investigators in the film. my character had to look very exhausted and a bit rough. To accomplish this look, celine helped me to add makeup to my face. i did majority of it but to make it look better she gave her recommendations and helped. When the makeup was done, i had darker under eyes and looked more pale. This was the idea the character was supposed give. The character celine played had to look more put together so she didn’t add any makeup. Sabrina didn’t use any makeup as well. Michael had to use lots of makeup. He wore a white shirt and black pants. Then Sabrina and i used fake blood and splattered it over his shirt. The character Michael pla

for the first real day of filming, me, sabrina, and celine came to my house to film. the group filmed the opening scenes of the office. i had to wait until michael came to finsih the rest of the filming. once he got here, the group went to the specified park to film some scenes. once back back at the house, micheal needed to do the bloddy scenes. me and sabrina took him outside and got the fake blood. the blood was splattered all over his white shirt and i made handprints to make it look like there was a struggle. next, i made fake bruises on his eye and cheekbone. we went to a dark room to take a mugshot, and it turned out good. after that, me and sabrina wrote the credits on the case files and filmed that scene. after that, the group looked through the scenes that were complete. the ones that were best went onto a seperate album to keep them safe and organised. once that was complete, everybody went home. we decided that since we are going to continue to film at my house, the props w

production blog: musical score

Image
for the end credidts of our film, we needed public domain music. the music needed to sound scary or mysterious. i couldnt find anything that i liked or fit the theme. i decided play around on my piano. since it is an electric piano, i was able to immitate an organ sound. this allowed me to come up with a creepy score. the chords were a c#, f#maj and g. it was a simple progression that i came up with. the same pattern went from low to high. since it was an origional work be me, we dont need to contact anyone. there is no copyrigh that needs to be dealt with. i sent a copy of the music to the group chat, and everyone liked it. we plan to play it behind the end credits, after the talking scenes are done. this saturday, we are starting the filming process at my house. everyone will get here around 12:15, but i will pick celine up from her house at 11:00am because she dosent have a ride. once everyone is here, we will film the scenes that take place at my house. if we have time we will go t

production blog: first day of filming

on my group's first day of filming, we had to cancle due to transportation issues. no one was available to film that day. we rescheduled to this saturday. in preperation for filming i bought candy ciggerettes for one of our scenes. i also made my room at my house look more like an office. since we rescheduled, we have more time to prepare for the filming process. fimling will be done at my house next saturday. the group will meet at my address to film. once everyon is there, the desired clips will be filmed and the rest will be filmed at the later date. most likely, sabrina will film, while me, celine, and michael do the acting. some of the scenes will be filmed in a park, so for that we will go to the location. to get there, i will most likely drive everyone from my house. another option is that we will meet there on the next day of filming. there, sabrinas secenes will be filmed. after that all that is left is the edition. this will mostly be done by all of us. sabrina will mostl

Scene 1- Our establishing show shows investigator 1 in a medium shot at eye level. Diegetic office sounds are heard INV 1 has make up on to make them look tired. The actor is dressed in semi-professional clothing. Scene 2- INV 1 is then seen in an over the shoulder shot showing multiple files thrown over a desk. Acting seems like they are stressed and working hard. Diegetic Sounds can still be heard from the “office.” The lighting is very bright within the office. Scene 3- INV 1 is shown from a close up, low angle shot kicking a file desk harshly and angerly. Scene 4- The shot cuts to a close up of INV looking at a crime case file with a sign that appears later in scenes. Slowly zooming into it. Scene 5- The camera pans to a side profile of INV. A voiceover is used to say “I can't be crazy” Scene 6- We then use a shot-reverse-shot to display a conversation between INV 1 and 2 in their office setting. They are both dressed as semi-professional investigators. Scene 7-
