Production blog: cancelation
Welcome back! Even though my group was supposed to meet up to begin the filming process this past weekend, my groupmates and I were unable to stick to the plan. a decision to meet up this Thursday was made. My group wasnt able to meet up because of SAT testing this week, and wanting to study was also a factor. When all of us had time, work on smaller tasks regarding our film was done. I was working on the musical scores that will be distributed throughout the film. I wanted to create specific scores that correlate to the emotions of each scene. To do this I used multiple instruments like guitar, piano, violin and drums. A great part of being in such a technological advanced time is that I am able to immitate different instruments from my computer. In an application called Garage Band I am able to "play" a violin to create tense or sad feelings. Luckily, I have access to many guitars through the school, as well as my personal collection. I also have my own keyboard, but if I wanted to have a more classical sounding grand piano, I could use the school's. As for the violin, I was just going to use Garage Band, but apon mentioning it to my group mate Jordyn, she said that she had one. Having never played violin, this came as a challenge, but I do understand music theory and I have experience with string instruments. Once I tuned and replaced some strings on the violin, I began to practice, and I am not half bad. This week, my plan is to create and record all of the different scores that will be added to the film.
Jordyn and aja took care of props and other matereal things that might be needed. Jordyn had been looking for old office supplies in her family's storage unit, and found a stress ball needed for a scene. She also found a dogital clock that will be the main focus of the entire film! Once a good amount of props were checked off our list, the group had to decide where the office scene would take place. after consideraion, it was discovered that aja and jordyns parents did not have office jobs, but my dad did. I was able to call my dad and ask him for permission to film in his office, and he agreed. The group made great progress in preparing for the film, even if we didnt get to film. i think the film will be very well thought out as produced well. this thursday we are definatly filming though.
here is a photo clip of garage band.
