SCENE 1 Investigator 1; "Interesting..." INV 1 flips through files of old unsolved cases obsessively diegetic sound of office sounds, phones ringing, conversation The camera pans down to the bottom of a filing cabinet, INV 1 slams it shut with their foot SCENE 2 While skimming the files, INV 1 notices similar modus operandi and signs, brushing over them with their finger INV 1: "I can't be crazy" diegetic office sounds foreboding non-diegetic sound on the dialogue SCENE 3 INV 2 snaps at INV 1, breaking their focus INV 2: "Hey! We just brought the guy in, let's focus on a case we can solve" INV 2 walks off and INV 1 follows, revealing a detective board, containing the modus operandi diegetic office sounds SCENE 4 Before both investigators enter the interviewing room, INV 2 turns to INV 1 INV 2: "Don't bring any of your conspiracy theories into this, please" as INV 2 enters, INV 1 faces the camera in a voice over INV 1 "One thing you need to know, is that I'll do anything for the truth, even if it means driving myself insane" INV 1 walks in and shuts the door diegetic sound of the SUSPECT sobbing All sound mutes during INV 1 voice over SCENE 5 Both INV walk in as INV 2 slams files onto the middle of the table Interviewee flinches and cries "I didn't do it..." Both INV sit, as INV 2 opens the files and starts to go through them INV 2 "Do you love your wife, Daniel" SUSPECT, sobbing "Yes" INV 2, reaching for suspects hand' "Then help me find out who murdered her" Harsh lighting on SUSPECT Suspenseful non-diegetic sound SCENE 6 INV 2 flips through files and starts asking the SUSPECT questions INV 1 sees the same modus operandi increasingly as the interview continues INV 1 explodes on SUSPECT, "WHAT DO THEY MEAN" INV 2 pulls INV 1 off SUSPECT Non-diegetic suspenseful music Diegetic sound of, feet tapping, coffee mug shaking, hand gripping clothes, heartbeat Lighting; red SCENE 7 INV 2 pulls INV 1 out of the room "Oh my god, what is wrong with you? Welcome back! Tomorrow the group will film the first part of the short film, but for now, marketing is the main focus. To gain traction for the film, the group has decided to create various social media accounts on platforms like instagram, youtube, facebook and twitter. I am also creating a website to give information regarding the film to anyone interested. All of the social media accounts will provide the basic information about the film, as well as behind the scene clips from the days the group was filming. On the youtube account, my idea was to compile a few of the bloopers and post them. This would be funny and focus attention on the film. As for the instagram account, it was decided that it would focus more on the personal aspects of each character. Research Blog: Comparing Le Jetée, The Short, And 12 Monkeys, The Full-Length Movie- Time To Get Down To "Monkey" Business

Hello! We have returned once again to further our efforts in comparing short films to those that are fully developed into lengthy features. To do so, we have chosen two more pieces to compare, “La Jetée” and “12 Monkeys”. “La Jetée” was originally a collection of black and white still photos; however, it was eventually adapted into a major motion picture under the direction of Terry Gilliam. Instead of keeping it in the likeness of flipbooks, the 1962 featurette, or photo-roman as its director Chris Marker refers to it, was completely readapted to fit the modern interests of Gilliam’s modernized audience in 1995. This meant that it underwent a complete makeover in terms of its visual aesthetics, although it did remain mostly true to the basic concepts of the film. Horror -Quite the Fright

Boo! Did I scare you away? I hope not! Just stick around for a while since this is the last blog in our set of research, and maybe the last blog you'll ever read! Anywho, we will be focusing on the horror genre here and outlining its conventions below. Camera Angles, Movement, and Shots: With the horror genre, a lot of unusual camera angles, shots, and movements are applied. One of said shots is the tracking shot, which is used in horror films to the same effect as it is in thrillers, to simulate the feeling of a subject being watched or followed. A good example of this occurs in the movie Touch of Evil (1958), where the subject of the camera switches every so often, an interesting concept that we might like to apply to our own short film. The high angle is also commonly used for the purpose of activating a primal fear within the viewer themselves such as when showcasing a character who may be close to falling from a high place, as in Fall (2022).
