filming blog

On Thursday night of December 2nd, my group completed the first day of editing. To start, working out a schedule with my group was very difficult. aja has volunteer activities on Monday and Wednesday, and she has work on Friday. My group mate Sophia has work on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. i have Lacrosse practice for the school team on monday and wednesday and work on Saturday. With the restrictions of school included, I only had Thursday night, Saturday and Sunday morning. Since the beach portion of my video was surrounding the sunset and having the actors show as silhouettes, I had to film backwards. To get my filming done before I had to start production blogs, I had to film the sunset portion first. we all decided to film the beach shot first. this part included an over the shoulder shot in the car of my group mate, filming videos of the sunset out the window. On this filming day, I did run into a few minor issues. For the car scene, I had to drive slower than usual and had to find an opening in the street to prevent having other cars in the shot. Once my group arrived at the beach, there was a lot of walking required in order to find an open area where nobody else was sitting, and where no one would interfere with our shot. Someone else in my group filmed the picnic blanket scene as my other group mate and I laid down the picnic blanket. There were some issues with the wind in this scene, in regards to keeping the blanket on the ground. After this, I did not run into many other major issues. I then laid out the picnic foods and opened the chips and cookies to get ready for the next scene. I stood up the camera on my aluminum water bottle to keep it stable so all 3 of my group members could all be in the shot. My group then filmed the picnic shot of all of the members eating and conversing among each other, and after many tries, I found a shot that all of my group mates liked. Lastly, I filmed the final shot of all of my group mates and I dancing, my group had no problems with this scene, and it was my personal favorite as well
